Summertime Fishing
in Lofsdalen
Lofssjön in the heart of Lofsdalen is most likely to be Härjedalen’s best trout water.
Each year, tons of fish are released in the whole of Lofsdalen / Glöte FVO. In the large and nutritious Lofssjön, fish thrive and grow the sport fishing record in the lake is 9.6 kg! Not many great waters are this accessible.
But fishing in Lofsdalen is much more than Lofssjön, about 50,000 Ha is available to you within the fishing areas of Lofsdalen / Glöte. Lofsån, Glötesån, Sömlingsån and Stråån are all rich in fish and exciting wilderness rivers, made for dry fly and nymph fly, or worm bait. Stråsjön is an alpine lake rich in char.
Dyckessjön holds both trout and char, while Ruttjärn is typically trout water with some perch. Ideal waters for "hiking and fishing" are the tarns beyond Dammkojan. Here you can wander undisturbed among the 36 tarns. Not to forget Glötessjön - even in the middle of the village. An excellent family water with fine trout stocks with some grayling. There are many more options for those who want a nature and fishing experience beyond the ordinary. Fishing by boat and floating ring is permitted in Lofssjön, Dyckessjön and Glötessjön. The boats can be rented with us.
